Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Access to the archives is explained in the Use Regulations (Benutzungsordnung) according to the Federal Archives Act and the Archives Act of the State of Berlin. Persons wishing to use the archives must submit a written inquiry or request, demonstrating a legitimate personal or research-related need for such use.

Fees will be charged for use and research. Exceptions will be made as explained in the Use Regulations. Use restrictions exist for certain archives for reasons of data protection and protection of privacy, or as per instructions of private donors or estate administrators. Copies of documents can be obtained for a fee (see price list).

2 microfilm reader-printers, one computer terminal, and connection sites for laptops are provided.
