Nicht nur Ernst Lubitsch, auch viele andere jüdische
Künstler und Kaufleute, Schauspieler und Schriftsteller
prägten zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts den Aufbau
der Filmstadt Berlin.
Sie bauten Lichtspielpaläste und Glashäuser,
drehten exotische Monumentalfilme und expressionistische
Filmkunst,schufen Arbeitplätze und internationale
Handelsbeziehungen und erfanden das Kino als Kulturinstitut
für alle.
Ernst Lubitsch was only one of a
number of Jewish artists and merchants, actors and writers
who left their mark on and established Berlin as a film
metropolis at the beginning of the twentieth century.
They built cinema palaces and glass-enclosed film studios,
produced exotic epics and expressionist
art films. They created new jobs and international
trade relations and developed the cinema as a cultural
institution for everyone. |
